Newtheatricals is a producing group founded by
Rodney Rigby in 2004.
Current projects include: Jersey Boys- The Story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne.
Producing credits include: Broadway; Lend Me A Tenor, Australia; Jersey Boys, Boeing Boeing, Mum’s the Word 2: Teenagers, Burt Bacharach and the Sydney Symphony, Grumpy Old Women LIVE, The Woman In Black, Jamie Oliver LIVE, Bryn Terfel – In Recital, David Campbell – Wild with Style, Anthony Warlow – Under the Stars, Stuff Happens, Leader Of The Pack, Lesley Garrett and Anthony Warlow – The Magic Of The Music, Via Dolorosa (written and performed by David Hare) and La Fura dels Baus XXX.
Earlier credits include: The Witches Of Eastwick, Shout!, Fame, the Helpmann Awards (2001, 2004, 2005), The King and I (London), The Sound Of Music, Art, Grease – The Arena Spectacular, Cabaret, Crazy For You, An Ideal Husband, Smokey Joe’s Café, The Secret Garden, How To Succeed..., Fallen Angels, South Pacific and Elvis – The Musical.
General Management credits include: Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show (2008/09).
Rodney was a member of the Executive Council of Live Performance Australia from 1997 – 2005.
Awards include; five Helpmann Awards including Best Play 2006 (Stuff Happens) and six Greenroom Awards.
In 2005, Rodney was awarded Life Membership with Live Performance Australia for “outstanding individuals who have given unquestionable service and commitment to the development of the LPA and the Australian Live Entertainment and Performing Arts Industry”.
